Learning Programmes

The purpose of learning programmes department is to facilitate and manage the implementation of learning programmes for and within the public service sector. While the outcome is to increase pool of skills into and within the public service sector by focusing on training interventions for existing and future employees on priority skills required to deliver the NDP. Additionally, this programme focusses on unemployed graduates and learners by bridging education and the world of work through internship and placement opportunities in the public service sector.

The aim is to open the public service as a training space and to encourage workplace learning. The functions of the learning programmes department include conducting pre-implementation project sessions, Inducting the learners into the learning programmes, registration of learners into the learning programmes, monitoring and evaluation of the projects, processing of tranche payments, evaluation of sector quarterly monitoring reports, and coordination of quarterly monitoring reporting through the SETMIS to DHET.
